Ike Was Here

I know from the televised reports in Texas that the destruction is unbelievable! So, I know that my complaints about how bad we were hit here in MISSOURI.....yes, Missouri, will be on deaf ears. But, can I not complain a little?

No electricity, no hot water, no sump-pump to work without electricity, no internet, no phone. Leaking basement, water coming in all 3 outside facing doors, gutters flying off, neighbors outdoor furniture traversing through the air, BBQ grills also flying by the house, 3 trampolines went sailing by too. Well, really, anything in the neighborhood NOT nailed down was lost. My outside flowers......all gone. Hummingbird feeders......gone.

The upside to our weekend? Look at that sweetie in the first picture! This was just one of the animals at the Parents As Teachers Diego Party!

Here is Maddy with Diego!

And she was not as fond of the baby Chimp as I was!

And this is ALL she wanted to do at the party. Swing, swing, swing......with daddy standing near. It really was a very nice party. They had huge Diego puzzles, cats and dogs from the local humane society, balloons, snacks, juice, make-your-own Diego vest, jungle painting, animal search, and LOTS more! Great fun!

So, the only new jewelry I got in was one pendant, one pair of earrings and I had just started some custom Mother's Rings when we lost electricity for the second time Sunday. Let's hope me week goes better!

But in all seriousness, I am truly sorry for all of the families in Texas that are enduring this hard time. I can not image what it must have been like there if it was this bad up here in Missouri. You all are in my thoughts!

Have a great week everyone, in case I do not get to make it back here. I have a full work week ahead of me! Take care!

Warmly,
Leslie

Do You Wanna Follow Me?

You know, when I was in my very early twenties an older gentleman friend of mine once said that I was a "Sheep Herder".......Hmmmm, this comment provoked much discussion and confusion on my part. He went on to explain that our little "clique" of friends would do anything I asked of them.....hence, follow me like sheep. Honestly, I thought it was a snarky thing to say, but then again I was barely 21 at the time, he in his mid 30's and wanting to date me. I of course was SO NOT interested in him, which then of course offended this gentleman and that snarkyness was his "attitude" for the remainder of our friendship. The friendship did not last much longer because I met my soon-to-be husband, and after meeting him, everything else became insignificant. Where am I going with this you ask?
I was wondering........maybe.........if you wanted to follow me?????

Blogger added a new tool for the sidebar. I put it over on the right. It seems to be a fantastic way to network in the blog world. You can sign up, anonymously it you want, by clicking on "Follow This Blog". A little window will pop up, you can then click "Follow publicly" or "Follow anonymously". Then press the bright orange "FOLLOW" button. And your little picture is then in the box there. People will come to my blog and see you, hopefully click on you, and then find your blog and read about you!!!!! See it is networking!!!! It is just another way to get your blog listed. PLUS.....I get to find new blogs that I did not know existed! Cool huh? Well, again, maybe it is the little things in life that excite me!

So....I ask again......do you want to follow me? I am following Kerry over at Kab's Creative Concepts who is the great gal who brought it to my attention! Thank you Kerry!

Well, enjoy the day! It is Friday. It is a miserable wet, dark, and sinus pain day here in Southeast Missouri. Humidity this morning was 94%. It feels like a wet blanket outside today. Hard for my dear elderly patients to breathe today.......which is why I am here updating my blog on work time.....shhhh. Very few of my regulars have come in today....I hope they are alright!

Have a great weekend! We are taking Maddy to a Parents As Teachers party this evening. Diego is going to be there! Isn't that cool? And live animals! I will take plenty of pictures to share! In the mean time.........Go Forth And Create!

Warmly,
Leslie

Go West Young Man

Did any of you Etsy fanatics know that Etsy has 2.....yes 2........Treasuries? Heeeyyya! Really! And guess what? Last night I snagged one! YUP! I did! I had SO much fun picking out the goods!

Here is the deal for those of you, like me, who were not "in the know". There is regular Treasury and Treasury West. The Treasuries have been having a little melt down of sorts due to Etsy server and human errors. Go to the Community Forums to read if you need, but long story short the number of Treasuries allowed for each site increased temporarily and I decided that this might be my only chance........so grabbed one on the Treasury West site. It is, by the way, a test site, but a front page picked Treasury can come from either site, regular or west.

Because you might have heard about my screen shot incompetence's, here is a link to my Etsy Treasury I made. Etsy :: Treasury West List

Sorry that I could not show a picture of my beautiful Treasury. If there is anyone out there in blog land that might be able to help me with my incompetence with working with screen shots, PLEASE drop me a comment and we'll hook up!

Hope you enjoy this momentous occasion with me. And yes, it is the little things in life that really do make me happy!

Enjoy! Go Forth and Create!

Leslie

I AM IN A TREASURY!!!!!

YAAAAYYYYY!!!!!

Here is a link, as I can NOT seem to get my print screen to work the way I want it too. It keeps cutting off a whole row of pictures in the Treasury.....NOT what I have in mind.

Sydnei at Simply Sentimental was lucky enough to snag a Treasury! Check out her blog too, here! Lucky gal! Not only does she have a great shop AND blog......she picked up a Treasury!!!!

But, I am happy and VERY grateful for her for thinking that my earrings deserved a spotlight! Thank you Sydnei!

Hope you all enjoy the Treasury! Oh, and if I get that screen print to work.......I shall be back! Go forth and create!

Warmly,
Leslie

Random "Leslie" Thoughts

I will not play at tug o'war.
I'd rather play at hug o'war,
Where everyone hugs
Instead of tugs,
Where everyone giggles
And rolls on the rug,
Where everyone kisses,
And everyone grins,
And everyone cuddles,
And everyone wins.

Enjoy!
