Awesomeness Giveaway

Hello all! Welcome to my first destashing giveaway! I know, everyone is doing some kind of Giveaway, right? My reason is twofold......to have someone enjoy some awesomeness and to follow in Kitty Durmaj's footsteps. You see, I won this box full of beads and awesomeness and decided to reuse the box and fill it up myself with goodies for some lucky someone!

Here is how to win! Leave a comment here on my blog......BUT here is the stipulation.....you must keep the box going! Take all that is inside, reuse the box to fill with whatever YOU want to destash with! It does NOT have to be beads....it could be scrapbooking supplies, photo supplies, mixed media goodies, etc.....

If you leave a comment here it is YOUR word that you will do this please! Also, if you follow my blog, Twitter, Facebook, blog about the giveaway on your own blog then come back and leave a separate comment with links if applicable and receive extra entries!!!

NOW! What is in the box???? Let me simplify.....BEADS! Art beads from some of your FAVORITE designers.....example: Tin Snippets from Lorelei Eurto, Leaf Pendant from Miss Fickle Media, handmade beaded toggle from me, TONS of handmade pendants from me (Easter Bunny, candy sprinkles, vintage button, birds nest with pearl eggs, ceramic bird pendant, etc......). Also, gemstone beads, a bag of misc. beads.....oh my gosh, too much to list here!

This giveaway is open to ANYONE by the way! International readers also!!! If I forgot anything I will come back and add it as an update, but I think that is all for now! If you have any questions....PLEASE feel free to ask! Thanks for checking it out and enjoy!

UPDATE: The winner will be picked Friday April 29, 2011!

Answer And Winner!

In answer to yesterday's Game Time question:

Yes.....Aquaman and Barbie were in the middle of a "Love Tango" yesterday morning when I stumbled in the bathroom half asleep......hmmm, they DO know that this is a child's bathtub right? My husband says he did not do it, so by deductive reasoning, it had to be Madelyn. She told me he had rescued her! I am not even sure WHERE Aquaman came from! Hmmmm...

Thank you to all those who participated! I LOVED all the answers!! They made me giggle.....the bead answers especially! The winner is: Releases by Rufydoof (Karyn) who said, "I am going to guess Barbie and Ken being rather friendly. I hope that isn't too rude but it was the ''doing'' comment you made that had me wonder!" And NO it was not too rude! Very funny in fact!

Karyn, feel free to contact me using my email listed on my blog and let me know which winners item you prefer and a shipping address! Congratulations on a wonderful guess!! Great job everyone! I will do this again soon! I had a lot of fun! :)

Game Time

Hello all! Okay, this might be a little unconventional, but here goes! I am going to ask a question and leave it up on my blog for 24 hours. The first comment to get the question CORRECT will win a FREE handmade beaded toggle, as shown here in my Etsy Shop. You can answer as many times as you want!! If you are the winner and you are NOT a jewelry maker or designer than you can choose a pair of earrings from my already made stash OR I can send you a surprise pair! Your choice again! The answer with a picture and announcement of the winner will be tomorrow around this time!! So, without further ado...

QUESTION: What did I find on/in Madelyn's bathtub when I got up this morning? (Madelyn is my 5 1/2 year old daughter so think Toys!) *HINT* Girly bathtub toys, nothing out of the ordinary, stuff she always has in there, but a surprise something they were "doing"???? Hope that did not give it away TOO much! :)

Have at it and enjoy! :)

Hello all! I want to introduce you to some outstanding new artists! At the Cape Girardeau Show in November, I was lucky enough to be in the booth next to a friend of mine, Sherri. Evelyn Barton, Mary Martin and Sherri Bramhall are the artists behind Angel Abstracts. Their new website is up and running and I am SO happy and excited for them! Go take a look! They are SUPER talented! Did I mention that all of these great ladies also have full-time jobs as occupational therapists? I have their Prayer and Praise Booklets and I use their postcards DAILY as thank you cards for my Etsy business.

I am also very happy and excited to say that I working on new jewelry designs for them using their original artwork! How cool is that?

I loved being in the booth next to them in November! Their stories of how their unique artwork was created is FASCINATING! Each person sees something different in the prints. I just LOVE it! Please go and take a look, you will not be disappointed!

Here is the Giveaway information. Go to their website, come back here and post a comment on which item(s) are your favorite, or which print spoke to you the most, and next Monday, January 4th, I will choose a number with one of those random number generators and the winner will get an Assortment Package!!! And The Winner Is.......

Shadesongs!!!!!!

Who wrote:

"Hi, first, love your shop. I see you are a fan of hollow lampwork beads. I adore them, but I am greedy, I don't share well with them! I am also a nurse, I work on a dementia unit..weekends. I was just thinking today about the balance between nursing and designing. And have my fingers crossed as I would be honored to wear your ring! Thank you, Jerry and my shop is under shadesongs and you can reach me at shadesongs at aol.com or through etsy! Have a great night"

Congratulations!!! I am SO excited for you! And a BIG THANK YOU to everyone who participated in this giveaway! You ALL have touched me by your wonderful comments. I really can NOT express into words what your comments mean to me! Truly!!

I will be contacting the winner to get the birthstones need to make this beautiful ring! But, in the mean time I want to announce something VERY FRUSTRATING!!!

My supplier that I have purchased the birthstone rondelles from is no longer carrying the September Sapphire in Sterling Silver, only Gold AND the December birthstone rondelles apparently were a limited edition color and they have suggested us buyers use a different color. Ok, so, the December issue is not REALLY a problem because I have looked at the new color and it actually seems to be the birthstone that matches BETTER than what the supplier was selling in the first place. Make sense? Clear as mud? So, my big problem is the September birthstones........I am in the process of trying to find a new supplier. I thought I found some and actually purchased a couple to see if they were anything like what I was using already and of course not, NO they are TOTALLY different! Crud! I will keep on looking and buying....in the mean time I will use the stash I have, find new homes for the September stones I am buying and NOT liking and well, just keep trucking along!!!

Sorry for the rant and to lay that all out on you all, I am just a little frustrated that I have been selling these rings for over 3 years here at home and never had a problem.......I open an Etsy shop and NOW there is a problem......ah! There I go again. SORRY!!!

You all have a great day and week and again CONGRATULATIONS to our winner! WOO HOO!

Warmly,
Leslie

It's A Giveaway!!! Yay!!!

Yes! It is my first Giveaway! YEAH!!!! I am giving away 1 custom Mother's Ring!!! They are made from 0.925 Sterling Silver and Swarovski Crystal Rondelles. All strung on professional no-fray elastic cord. Great for those with hand ailments, like Arthritis, or just those who suffer from any form of swelling. Great even for moms-to-be who have that pesky swelling due to fluid......I did not say weight gain!!!!

Here is the plan.........Go to my Etsy Shop, take a look around, come back here and post a comment about things you see in my shop. Anything you want....your likes, dislikes, questions, ideas, critiques.......ANYTHING! I am up for it. Just make sure that there is a way for me to get a hold of you and of course your name. This post will stay up for the rest of this week and over the weekend. Monday I will use one of those random number generators and pick the winner. I will post the winner and their comment here with a HUGE congratulatory message and then of course get together with the winner via email and discuss the ring. The ring can be for the winner, or they can use it as a gift for the holidays......they can even just pick out some colorful stones if they do not have any children or grandchildren. It is the WINNERS choice!

PLEASE head on over to Punky N Munky and take a look at Wendy's blog!!! Wendy sent some great questions over to me....I answered, to the best of my ability, and sent them back. She will be posting that interview very soon on her blog! An insiders look into me and my Etsy shop! Oh what tales I can spin.....

I actually met Wendy when she made a pair of custom hair clippies for Madelyn. They are the GREATEST ribbon sculpture clips EVER! Madeyln actually wears one and uses the others as little dolls to play with. Check out Wendy's Etsy Shop! You will NOT be disappointed. Oh, and Maddy's choice of sculpture clippies happened to be the "baddies"......The Wicked Queen from Snow White and Maleficent from Sleeping Beauty......I wonder what that means? Anyone?

Good Luck to all of you........since this is my first giveaway, if I forget anything or if you have any questions, I will be back in many times to check the progress! Again, please checkout the links and sites above....you will really enjoy them!

Have a great week! Take care!

Leslie

Happy Fall Y'All

Happy first day of Fall to everyone! Oohhh, this is my FAVORITE time of year! We have already used the fireplace a few times, I have already made a HUGE stockpot of homemade vegetable soup with cornbread muffins AND my daughter made artwork on the kitchen floor using my fall leaves cupcake liners......those are her words by the way....."artwork". Guess how long we had to leave them smack-dab in the middle of the kitchen floor......*sigh*. The things we do for our babies! You KNOW we were proud parents, giving high-fives all around, just exclaiming at what a wonderfully talented artist she was.......and then we had breakfast!

I made a couple of new jewelry designs and posted them to my shop. I also got out some supplies to DESTASH my stash and posted them as well. I started 3 new jewelry designs, finished others (they are waiting for pictures and posting) and edited and re-posted new pictures of some designs already in my shop. OH! Big news! Thursday night I made my first online sale from my shop! Thank you Megan!!!! I sold a pair of earrings that I had just posted that day! It was an incredible feeling......I was so nervous! I think I almost forgot that the whole point was TO SELL my designs! I sat there thinking....oh my gosh...I sold something......what do I do now? It lasted all of 3 seconds!

OH! I will be having a giveaway here very soon. Wendy over at Punky N Munky will be featuring me as her first Etsy artist on her blog. She sent questions, I have answered them and will be sending them over to her very soon....so keep an eye out for that in the next week on BOTH sites!

My mother's rings will be reviewed over at Sherri's blog, Mom Tested and Approved Reviews. I think this is a great site! I love to look at all of the goodies and get a moms approval and of what she thinks of the products! Great idea!
Have a great week! Keep creating and enjoy the Fall! Take care and thank you for stopping in!

Warmly,
Leslie

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME!!!!!

Happy 36th Birthday to me! Let me see.....lots of things on the agenda. First, after the 4th of July Holiday I will be doing a "Mother's Ring Jewelry Giveaway"! YEAHHHH!!! I know you are excited! Secondly, it is my birthday and all I can say is I woke up, I was serenaded by my sweet daughter with a fabulous rendition of Happy Birthday, I went to work, got my hair done after work , went shopping for a bathing suit (that was enough almost put me in the nearest hospital for anxiety and depression), we had a fabulous dinner from a FANTASTIC restaurant called 12 West, they have the most Divine Gooey Butter Cake.......yummmm......where was I? Oh, I received 2 beautiful cards from my husband with a gift card to the local boutique, and a dozen red roses that were HUGE!!!! Like the size of your fist huge! The one rose that was front and center in the bouquet was 3 feet tall....NO JOKE! HUGE! I had one of my sweetest little old lady patients in my office when they arrived and all she could say was......Wow, WOW!
3rd......I will be taking a little vacation for the 4th. My husband and one of his best friends will be flying to New York for a guys weekend/holiday retreat and my daughter and I will be heading to my mothers to meet up with my sister and her 2 boys. They are coming in from Oklahoma City after spending some time with my dad, but are originally from Olympia Washington. So, I will not be back until after the 8th of July. AND THEN.....I got ANOTHER summons in the mail today for jury duty.....AGAIN...for the 10th AND 11th........UGH! The one I had last week.....well, to put it nicely....IT SUCKED! 28 year old man accused of statutory sodomy of a 3 year old little girl.........Man.....what can you say? I hated the entire frickin' ordeal! You know the guy all over the news here today, Nicholas Sheley, killed that couple in Festus (amongst others), which is the town I used to work in......about 35 minutes form here........now there is a case I would want to be on. NOT any having to do with children. Made me sick! Blah!
Anyhoo.....on to more enjoyable topics.....I have 13 ring orders and 2 bracelet orders to get done before Thursday, packing for me and Madelyn, shopping for me and Madelyn, food shopping for her (with her food allergies I have to bring everything), clean house, do laundry, clean the car, pack the car, more shopping........blah blah blah.
I will return next week. Maybe the giveaway will lessen the sadness........as I know you will miss me as much as I will me you all! In the mean time, GO FORTH AND CREATE! Have a superb July 4th Holiday! Happy Birthday America! Oh, and one last thing. I have not kept in touch with too many people from high school, but one of my good friends from "back-in-the-day" had a birthday on July 4th and I always called him to wish him a happy birthday......well, we have not been in touch for over 15....almost 18 years. But every year I have ALWAYS thought of him at this time. So......Kevin Schroder.....wherever you are....Happy 36th Birthday to you! Miss you!
Many blessings! Take care and be safe!
Warmly,
Leslie

Think, Think, Think.......Giveaway?

As my favorite friend Winnie the Pooh would say.......think, think, think. I am at home today taking care of my sickly girl. She is sleeping due to having one heck of an upper respiratory infection, plus strep throat. Hmmmm, gotta love those daycares! So, I am enjoying some computer time....trying to be ULTRA quiet, and I am doing some thinking. My thoughts are......."I wonder. Do I have enough readers to do a giveaway?" I know I have a counter on my blog, but I confess, sometimes I can not remember what the numbers are! You'd think after 3 years, my daughter Madelyn would return the brain cells she stole from me in utero. I guess she still thinks she needs them. I beg to differ!

SO! If I truly do have readers out there in blog land and you all would be interested in a little free jewelry giveaway..........post a comment.....say Yay or Nay, or what ever you want, I am not picky. Even if there is only one lone, solitary reader out there, please post. Your chances of being a winner are really good! HA!
I am thinking about a "Mother's Ring" giveaway. Don't be fooled by the name, it could be a Grandmother's ring, Nana ring, birthstone ring, or just a fashion ring for those without children! They are made from 0.925 sterling silver and Swarovski crystal rondelles. They are strung on jewelers professional elastic powercord, no fray and treated with super duty jewelers glue on the hidden knot! You can see some very bad pictures of some beautiful custom orders here.

Please, let me know what you all think.......if there is a "you all". If I get any kind of response I will proceed with a jewelry giveaway. If you all are NOT interested in the rings, give me your opinion on another piece, as I am willing to go for anything........earrings, pendants, bracelets, childrens jewelry, etc.......ANYTHING! I need something to get my creative juices flowing again. Do not get me wrong, I am happy with ANY orders I get, but they have all been mother's rings and birthstone bracelets. Oooo, I sound ungrateful. Sorry, that is not how I meant it to come out. I think maybe that since all of my orders are from around my hometown and from work, I am wanting to connect to more customers out there in the rest of the world!

My hubby is staying home tomorrow with the little one as I have a cholesterol clinic to run at work. Thursday......I have jury duty...........yeah, you can pick yourself up off the floor now........stop laughing.......I mean really........stop.

I will leave this post up until the weekend at the latest. Have a great week......go have fun! Take care and GO CREATE!!!!!!

Warmly,
Leslie
