Kids Say The Funniest Things

Scene: Madelyn sitting on the couch with blue blankie, pink elephant and Boo Hoo (Owl) waiting for mommy to start the old Disney Mulan VHS that came from Goodwill. Disney previews showing first: 101 Dalmatians, and Tarzan.

Maddy, eyes wide when Tarzan comes on the screen says,

"Holy Moly.....whata guy....*sigh*".

Uh uh...yes, my three year old. Where do they come up with these things? Wasn't from her daddy and I....thank you preschool and television!

Halloween Decor.....Take 1

Hello all! It is not my day to work in the store and I did not have any senior centers scheduled today, so I kept my girl home today for a "little mommy and me" time. One of the items on our agenda was to make this Halloween banner you see here! I found it online HERE yesterday at work and we quickly whipped it up this morning. I could NOT find ANY ric-rac at the store yesterday, but the cute thin black and white checked ribbon looks nice (I know you can't see it, but it is rather cute). I would have rather had the ric-rac for the texture and design, but we make do huh? I also did not print it out on card stock as suggested, that is up to you.

I think for Thanksgiving we will do one as well, and let Maddy color them with traditional fall/seasonal colors. I will post that here when the time comes. Also, if you browse a little more on her site you will find OTHER free tutorials and patterns. I am kinda excited to print and hang the holiday dangles come Christmas.

Wouldn't You?

I mean really! Wouldn't you and your best friend Dora want to be Queens of the Bathroom too? Come on....who wouldn't? I mean your reign wouldn't be that hard.....keep the towels picked up, replace the toilet-paper when it gets low, put the seat back down when not in use, make sure you are wearing your tiaras and best gowns, put on your best necklace and bracelet, smile and sit on your step-stool........what a great job!

I'll say it again.......who wouldn't? I mean seriously!

Maddy and Spongebob Sittin' in a Tree.......

Every evening, as I sit in the spare bedroom, cross legged on the bed with my laptop, Maddy crawls up and sits in my lap. She, in her sweet little 3 year old voice, asks for Spongebob on the "pooter" (computer for those of you following along). I then pull up Etsy and search"Spongebob". We then look at everything listed as she eats her snack of dried fruit. She "Ooooos and Ahhhhs", claims she wants everything she sees, tells me what is "so tuuute", and on the flip side tells me what is "ugwee". I thought I would share some pictures of her favorite items she picked out. Items we come close to having full-fledged melt downs over as she is having trouble understanding that they just don't magically appear out of thin air when requested.

Tonight my husband and I are having a "get together" with some of my co-worker/friends at our house. It will be our official first PARTY in our new house and I think our first official PARTY EVER! WOW! How sad huh? So, we plan on having food, drinks, a little cheesy karaoke, some Guitar Hero, a little Rock Star, music, talk and I hope a whole lot of laughter! Have a great weekend!
